Through this Pandemic, we are still her for our community feeding hundreds who could not get out due to Corona.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, July 1 is the last day we will be collecting food for local pantries. Our members have been more than generous and that generosity made a big difference in the amount of people who were helped.
If anyone would like to continue to donate, you can drop off food at Our Redeemer Church, Blaze Church, Church of the Harvest or St. John's. Please DO NOT bring your donations to the lodge.

We  are still collecting can tabs and new and slightly used GOOD clothing. The tabs can be brought to the bar during regular hours. Contact me if you have clothing to donate. At this point, the Veterans are only accepting new item, however Light House Mission is taking used clothing.

We would like to sincerely thank everyone who has faithfully dropped off donations.  I'm so proud to belong to this wonderful organization. Stay safe!!

The Riverhead Moose Lodge parking lot work has been completed and will now be open tomorrow morning. Anyone wishing to drop off donations for our ongoing food drive may do so between 8am and 1pm, Monday through Friday.

Once again, our Moose members and friends are wonderful and are very caring people. We can't thank everyone enough for the generosity you have all shown during this time. The food pantries that we assist, are also ever so thankful for the weekly drop offs that we make to them so they can help those in our community that are going through hard times. God Bless, stay safe, and be well!!

Our Heart of the Community committee was hard at work all last year recycling those aluminum tabs from soda & beer cans, chili cans, cat food, soup and so much more! Take a look at what our lodge collected last year!! If you're stuck at home, be sure to save those tabs to turn in at the lodge when we reopen.

The tabs will soon be donated to the Ronald McDonald House New York in New Hyde Park. The recycled money from “TABS” is used to help offset the Ronald McDonald House expenses, so the funds from recycling benefit the Families assisted by the Houses.

It's a small way to help your lodge maximize our efforts to serve our community!

We're stronger together. Stay safe and healthy everyone!

Riverhead Women of the Moose Chapter 1118 Senior Regent, Martha Zarro, and Junior Regent, Lynn Johnson, volunteered on behalf of the WOTM today at the Friends Kitchen located in Trinity Lutheran Church in Rocky Point. They prepared 110 meals that would be served to those in need in the community. The kitchen serves meals every Thursday, and also supplies 10 meals to a group home in the area. Good work, and thank you ladies!!

Just a reminder that the Lodge is still doing a food drive to help the local food pantries. The drop off bin will be outside the lodge main entrance from 8am - 1pm, Monday thru Friday. Items always needed are peanut butter & jelly, shelf stable milk, pasta & pasta sauce, mac & cheese, rice, soups, beans (all types), canned veggies, fruits and meats. We will also take apples, oranges, potatoes and other produce that will not spoil quickly. We thank everyone that has been dropping off food over the last few weeks. You have all made a difference in someone's life!

Update on Lodge Activities - April 29, 2020:
The following has been taking place at the Lodge during this virus lock out:

1. The building and its entire contents have been cleaned/sanitized many times.
2. The entire Bingo floor and entranceway in the basement has been cleaned and waxed.
3. All of the tables in the Bingo hall have been cleaned/sanitized to remove markings, etc.

4. The Banquet hall bar as been repainted and new lighting installed.
5. The Ladies room in the banquet hall is being converted into a new ADA approved unisex bathroom to finally be in compliance with ADA requirements.
6. The parking lot holes have been repaired, and when we can get three days of straight sun we will have the parking lot seal coated and then re-lined. Hopefully, before you all return.
7. The Lodge has been awarded (after filing an application) an SBA Grant of $5,000.
8. The Lodge has been awarded (after filing an application) a PP Federal Loan of $20,000. This loan will be repaid in 17 installments starting in November of this year. The interest rate on this loan is 1%.
9. The Lodge has filed an application for a Moose International grant of $5,000. The application was filed on 4/27/20.
10. We have lost significant revenue from lost parties and planned events that had to be cancelled. The loans and grant money will be used to continue to pay some staff and to meet our financial obligations. We are current with all of our bills and should be able to maintain being current.
11. We are still waiting for the bank to approve the loan for the roof replacement project. Once this loan is approved, the contractor will begin work.
12. Boats are going into the water, and campers will be arriving on May 9th. We have installed individual electric meters at every camp site. These will be in use next season.
13. The Pavilion is being cleaned up, removing unwanted chairs and tables so that it is ready for the summer.
The Lodge is poised to open as soon as we are permitted to do so. Our staff are waiting to return.
Stay safe, healthy, and God Bless.
