A Message from our Senior Regent

What a wonderful end to the year we had. All of our hard work paid off!!!

The women were able to donate to several worthy causes at our last meeting of the year- just in time for Christmas. We helped a family in need, and we made substantial monetary contributions to the following charities:  Mooseheart, Moosehaven, The Veterans, East End Hospice, Friends Kitchen, Hope Lodge and Angela’s House. We couldn’t have done this without the help of the hard working volunteers.

During the month of December we held a fantastic Breakfast with Santa. What a great time the kids had. The excitement in their eyes at seeing Santa and all the festive blow ups were wonderful to see.

We also went to Acadia Nursing home to sing Christmas Carols, and you could see how much the residents appreciated it. They sang along and everyone had a great time. Laurie Hansen did a great job with her  calendar raffle fund raiser and we will be calling winners every day in January.  Good Luck to everyone who purchased one.

I hope that everyone had a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and I wish you all a blessed New Year.

Sincerely,
Martha Zarro
Senior Regent

As the summer comes to an end, I look back at the last six months with such great feelings of pride and accomplishment. We, as a team, have made some really great strides. From our make your own pasta bowl, the Chinese auction, the brunch, calendar raffle, and the bingo kitchen, to our donations to

Mooseheart,  Moosehaven and our local Charities. Keep up the good work.
Many of us just returned from the convention in Alexandria Bay and boy was it AWESOME! Our Junior Grad Regent, AnneMarie, was honored with her well deserved Green Cap. Our Chapter placed second out of fifty five New York State Chapters. We had Co-Workers receive Top Five honors and we had one of the highest turnouts of Co-Workers at the Convention. This was incredible because we are one of the furthest Chapters from Alexandria Bay. We also had a great turnout from our Loom Brothers while we were there. A big thanks to them for their support.
After some very successful events this year we have more on the way. We have Bra-Pong starting in the month of October and our Oktoberfest Dinner/Dance will be held on October 28th. We will also be having an Indoor Yard Sale and Chinese Auction on Saturday November 4th.
At our Chapter meeting on October 10th, we will be holding Christmas in October with a march of checks. It will be a fun night with Holiday music, snacks
and an Ugly Sweater contest.

In closing I would like to thank all my Co-Workers for their generosity with their time, money and support. None of these events could have been successful without each one of you. Riverhead Chapter 1118 ROCKS! Last but not least please keep all of our Sisters, Brothers, family and all who have been effected by the recent weather disasters in your thoughts and prayers. We are in the process of planning future fund raisers to try and assist them.
